2017 GMC Acadia Redesign and Release




The 2017 GMC Acadia SUV is yet another in a series of SUVs GM companies, who will arrive with a complete redesign. Namely GM SUVs, which were placed on the Lambda platform, passing through the redesign process. As such, they will be placed on a new platform. Change platform and redesign vehicles, mark the beginning of a new generation of models. Production of 2017 models should start in the first half of 2016. By the end of that year, 2017 GMC Acadia will be available at dealerships.

GMC Acadia is one of the first full-size SUV, which is General Motors placed on the market. In addition to this model, the Buick Enclave, Cadillac SRX, Chevrolet Traverse are placed on the same platform. All these models will be placed on a new platform. As models for 2017, will start an era of a new generation of models.

2017 GMC Acadia Changes

The new platform offers great opportunities for new design solutions. In addition, the platform allows for different configurations of the vehicle. Scalable Chi or C1XX platform, offers the possibility of construction vehicles with short wheelbase and long wheelbase. 2017 GMC Acadia and 2017 Cadillac XT5 (ex SRX) will be placed on a platform with a short wheelbase. On the other hand, the platform with the long wheelbase will be placed new generation of Buick Enclave and Chevrolet Traverse models.

All the above models will also go through the redesign process. Redesign of the new generation will make the 2017 GMC Acadia significantly different from its predecessors. Design changes will include the entire outlook of the vehicle. The new look will get front fascia, squared-off fenders and LED light. The new LED lights will be installed vertically and will get reimagined. Also, the grille will get a new design and will be set lower.




2017 GMC Acadia redesign

The interior of the vehicle gets better materials and better final preparation. Will be applied to modern design combined with a higher level of functionality and practicality. 2017 GMC Acadia gets new safety systems and functions, as well as driver assistance systems.

2017 Cadillac XT5/SRX will be produced in Spring Hill, Tennessee. Since XT5 and new Acadia will be made on the same platform, it is assumed that the production of Acadia in 2017 be moved in the same factory.

2017 GMC Acadia  Engines options

Under the hood, the new generation will be the same drivetrain as well as the current model. However, the new model gets a new 9-speed automatic transmission instead of 6-speed AT. 2017 model will run 3.6-liter V6 engine with 281 horsepower and 266 lb.-ft. of torque. There are rumors that the offer will be extended powertrain the new four-cylinder engines and V6 turbo engine.

The aim of of expansion offer of powertrains is to improve the economic efficiency of the vehicle. The new platform will reduce the weight of vehicles, but it is necessary and promotion engine. The current model has an EPA rating of 16 city/23 hwy mpg for the version with AWD, and 17 city/24 hwy mpg for FWD version. 2017 GMC Acadia is expected with better numbers. To what extent will the new model will succeed remains to be seen.
