2017 Chevy Silverado Redesign

After a failed redesign for the 2014 model year, 2017 Chevy Silverado is going through a complete re-redesign. This move was expected, given that the previous attempt was not well accepted by the customers did not not from the public. On the other hand, the biggest competitor in the pickup truck segment, Ford F-Series Super Duty has significantly upgraded and redesigned.

The changes are most represented in the front of the vehicle, where they changed the design bumper, front grille and headlights, which are made in LED technology. Also, the engine cover has a new design, and present some other aesthetic details. All in all, the new Silverado pickup got more aggressive, more modern and nicer appearance than its predecessor.

The changes included the interior of the cabin, and all that were added upgraded security features and systems. Interior materials are more modern and better quality, and quality is lifted to a higher level. Driver assistance systems and entertainment systems upgraded, a Chevy Silverado 2017 is equipped with the latest MyLink infotainment system with support for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

Redesign of 2014 was not the only weakness of this vehicle. Compared to the Ford F-Series Super Duty trucks, GM’s HD models are lagging behind in strength and performance. So, for example, Ford’s 6.7-liter diesel engine with 440 horsepower from the Super Duty series, provides much better performance than the drive units of Chevrolet Silverado HD and GMC Sierra HD.

The new 2017 Chevy Silverado offers three different engines. In the basic version of the model is placed 4.3-liter V6 engine with 285 horsepower and 305 lb-ft of torque. There is also a 5.3-liter V8 engine with 355 horsepower and 385 lb-ft of torque. For versions of the new model, with the highest trim level, is reserved 6.2-liter V8 engine with 420 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque. This engine is coupled with eight-speed automatic transmission. Finally, this engine is strong enough that it can be equal with Ford’s 6.7-liter diesel engine.
